“Hacking VFX” at Raindance - Resources Post

Thanks to everyone who came along to the Hacking Hollywood VFX panel at Raindance on Tuesday!

During that talk I mentioned that I’d put up a resources post with a bunch of the videos we all talked about during the panel - here they are!

Firstly, here are details for our panelists:

I mentioned a greenscreen tutorial during the panel - since then I’ve actually found another really great one, so here are TWO greenscreen tutorials. Note that as Paddy said on the panel, 90% of the advice relates to the shoot, not post-production!

I also talked about the Game Of Thrones VFX breakdowns, which are really fantastic. Here you go:

Paddy talked about some more indie movies that he’s been working on recently - here’s an article on the VFX of “Grabbers and one on the making of Robot Overlords

Here’s Damien’s great cosplay-with-effects video - the effects are in the latter half:

Here’s the test I did of 3D camera tracking that convinced me to get into live-action. This took a couple of hours:

I’ll keep updating this post as I remember more things, and please do ask if there’s anything specific you wanted an example of!
